The Badger (Meles meles)
A wise and ambling woodland animal conjured up from our childhood stories of Wind in the Willows. Very much persecuted in the past for it legendary aggression and fighting prowess due partly to do with the badgers habit of compulsive excavation giving it massive front claws and powerful shoulders.
Being both subterranean and nocturnal the badgers and its tunnelling cousin the mole have all but lost the effectiveness of their eyes which are no more than a pin prick but they posses fantastic olfactory senses from a lovely big black nose.
